    The standard VAT rate is 20 percent in mainland France and Corsica. The official tax bulletin states that rate in CGI article 278.

  • Benefits

    From 1 April 2026 the monthly revenu de solidarité active (basic income support) for a single person with no other resources rises from 646.52 euro to 651.69 euro. The Mayotte amount on the same notice is 325.85 euro.

  • Housing

    The metropolitan rent reference index (IRL) was 148.37 in the second quarter of 2026. INSEE published it on 10 July 2026. It is an index, base 100 in the fourth quarter of 1998, not a monthly rent.

  • Work permit
