Section 10 of the Electoral Act 1963 limits a Dáil to five years from its first meeting, so it must be dissolved by 17 December 2029, and the Electoral Commission says a general election follows within 30 days of dissolution. The Taoiseach can ask the President to dissolve the Dáil earlier.

    The Department of Social Protection page on State Pension (Contributory) rates gives a maximum personal rate of €299.30 a week for 2026 for people under 80.
