How the ranking works
The dividend rate is company tax plus the higher of withholding and the home country's dividend tax, as in the estimate above. The salary rate is the OECD average income tax plus employee social security for your household. Years to citizenship use the shortest time across your passports. All 48 countries come from the same stored data with sources and years.
Source of the OECD figures: OECD Taxing Wages: average rate of income tax and employee social security contributions, single worker at 67%, 100% and 167% of the average wage (DSD_TAX_WAGES_COMP@DF_TW_COMP)

Sources and method
The estimate takes company tax in the company country, then taxes the dividend at the higher of the withholding rate and the residence country's personal dividend rate (assuming the withholding is credited). It ignores deductions, thresholds, special regimes and local taxes not in the OECD figures.
