Nation Runner
Nation Runner

- How a score is read
- A score on a desk is an editorial average of public records on named topics. The page shows the breakdown. It is not a scientific index, not a court ruling, and not a recommendation about how to vote. If every topic is still at the midpoint, the label is “Not scored”, which means no cited number has been scored yet.
- King gauge
- Six topics: energy prices, hiring, capital, building, hours in work, and paperwork. One hundred means the editorial reading is that the record supports work. Zero means the reading is that the record fights hiring and production. The criteria are those six topics. The gauge is editorial.
- CDU and CSU
- The Christian Democratic Union and its Bavarian sister, the Christian Social Union. Pollsters often publish them as one bloc, the Union.
- SPD
- The Social Democratic Party of Germany.
- AfD
- Alternative for Germany, the largest opposition party in the Bundestag after the February 2025 election.
- FDP
- The Free Democratic Party.
- BSW
- The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance.
- Greens
- Alliance 90/The Greens.
- Bundestag
- Germany’s federal parliament. The 21st Bundestag has 630 seats. A majority is 316.
- Länder
- Germany’s states.
- Second vote
- The Zweitstimme is the vote that decides each party’s share of seats in a federal election.
- Schwarz-Rot
- The governing coalition of the Christian Democratic Union, the Christian Social Union, and the Social Democratic Party. Black and red are their colours.
- Ampel
- The previous federal government of the Social Democrats, the Greens, and the Free Democrats. The name means traffic light, from their colours.
- Statutory health insurance
- Gesetzliche Krankenversicherung, often shortened to GKV. It is the public health-insurance system funded by a share of wages.
- INSA
- A German polling company. The Germany poll chart uses INSA telephone surveys compiled at wahlrecht.de, not a blend of several pollsters.
- Migrant Integration Policy Index
- Often shortened to MIPEX. A cited score for how a country’s policies treat immigrants. Nation Runner keeps the overall score and the source. It does not copy the report.
- Gross domestic product
- Often shortened to GDP. The value of goods and services produced in a country.
- Kept promise
- A pledge that a public page shows was carried out. The row includes a link. An election result or an appointment is not a kept promise.
